3. Attend "Protecting God's Children" class
4. Take the online "Coaching to Make A Positive Difference" class
5. Get the CYC Coaches Identification card
Coaching Requirements . . .
There are a number of coaching requirements to coach within any parish organization. The requirements are mandated by the CYC and the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Each of these requirements must be fulfilled and approved BEFORE you can have your first team practice. Missouri Dept. of Health & Senior Svcs Family Care Safety Reg. Form
All head and assistant coaches must submit a form for the Missouri Dept of Health & Senior Services Family Care Safety Registration. Blank forms are available in the Parish Office. This process must be repeated every 2 years. Once filled out, mail the form to the following address (or drop off at the Holy Infant Parish Office): Holy Infant, Attn: Background Check 627 Dennison Road, Ballwin, MO 63021.
Protecting God's Children (click for more information)
Coaches, assistant coaches and parent-helpers need to attend this program. The national sexual-abuse prevention program “Protecting God’s Children” was adopted by the Archdiocese of St. Louis in November 2002. All archdiocesan employees and volunteers who work with children on a regular basis are mandated to attend a presentation of the program. Developed by National Catholic Services, “Protecting God’s Children” is a comprehensive two-and-one-half-hour program. Holy Infant Athletic Association provides holds at least one workshop a year.
Coaching to Make A Positive Difference (click for more information)
This "Volunteer Youth Coaches' Training Program" is offered online by the Archdiocese of St. Louis. This program provides practical, everyday assistance with understanding the physical and mental development age of your team and providing a positive learning environment for all involved. The program provides pre- and post- season checklists and other essential information to get your volunteer coaching effort off on the right start.
This program is mandatory for K - 8 grade coaches and assistant coaches. High school coaches need not attend this class.
CYC Identification Cards (click for more information)
For coaches K - grade 8, you will apply for your CYC Coach's Card once you attend the "Coaching to Make A Positive Difference" class. This card will be mailed to you and needs to be with you at all games you coach.
High School coaches need to obtain a CYC identification card, but need not attend the "Coaching to Make A Positive Difference class.
